it seems to me that pretty much every publication was studied at the book study, but we never did that one..
Err yes it has study questions, however it is easy to get the books mixed up.
I've looked for the picture of the aztecs doing the live sacrifice to the sun, as in my brain that was in this book, I didnt find it with a quick flick thru, so it's possible that another book did similar but in shortened form and Im mixing them up.

Hang on just a frickin minute! I am reasonably sure (about 95% sure now that I've just trotted off to double check its the right book) that we DID study it. In my tiny brain it was a good few years back probably about 10 years ago.
I'm willing to be told otherwise but if not that one then we studied something very similar going into different types of religions and then how marvelous ours was.

The nutter apologists on here are at best "fringe" JWs that by other JWs would be considered as dodgy or that need help (in more ways than one). As said above any real JWs from bethel would be cringing from the "bad witness" given here by the so called JW's currently posting here.
So no, to answer your point these are not bethel trolls. Bethel trolls would be more polite, direct and fair but would stick to the party line, it would be about "correcting" misunderstandings on proceedure or scriptural reasons for the upheld belief all done in a way that would try to be logical coherant and respectful and that didnt draw attention to the poster themselves.
We see none of that with the current batch of loons on here.

ok i was debating on doing this post but here it goes.
i have not put down my whole story on this board but enough for everyone to know that my problem with the "truth" is sex offenders.. i have fought and fought the elders and they win.
they will allow child molesters and i cannot stop that.
I'm sad you find yourself in this difficult position. Sadly it's the same old story of too little too late as regards the elders. The situation I had to cope with myself (nothing to do with child abuse thank god) showed up the elders MO very well.
It's the 3 wise monkeys: Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil. The carpet in the hall is very lumpy im suprised people can walk on it with all the crap swept under there.
What they want is for you to shut up and "stop obsessing" over it no doubt. But what they dont seem to understand is that if it was handled better and more sensitively then you'd have every reason to comply with that directive.
They wont care that you leave either im willing to bet, ...because it will be your fault in their eyes

many times in the recent weeks, i have heard statements to the effect of "you dont understand biblical science", "science proove the bible right" etc.
i want to begin by saying i really like it when people make those kind of broad, sweeping statements because when each party in a discussion come clean about what they believe to be true, you can easier get down to a factual discussion.. and i really do want to understand biblical science.
i has spend a long, long time reading cuts-and-pastes on this site, and i have read a large part of the content on aig.
Give it another 4400 yrs and you'll have your answer....

Whilst a true believer I did realise some things felt odd or not quite right to me, but I still gave it the benefit of the doubt and soldiered on.
It's only after enough exposure to more information on our history and beliefs such as this site and others gives and recommendations for further reading such as CCMC etc (that we would NEVER have bought and read otherwise!) that Im equipped with the tools to see it for what it is, ... Just another manmade cult claiming to be the one true channel to God. (sigh)
